

Dr. Lakshmi Sridharan is a botanist and a molecular
biologist with a Ph. D from University of Michigan. She has
grown roses in India, Canada and USA. Her garden in San
Jose has nearly 250 roses, (both old and modern) and
hundreds of other plant species. She enjoys sharing her
gardening experiences through publishing articles on the
art and science of growing plants in Rose Newsletters,
Newspapers and Gardening Magazines. Several of her
articles have received awards from the American Rose
Society. She has given lectures in a number of societies
within United States and outside United States. She
exhibits roses in both arrangement and horticultural
sections in rose shows. Her roses have received
hundreds of blue ribbons and dozens of trophies.
Lakshmi is a versatile writer. She writes about ornamental
plants, herbs, trees, healthy cooking, Indian traditions and
culture. She regularly writes about tree care for Tree
Care Industry Magazine. You may read her articles
online--www.treecareindustry.org. Currently she is working
on two books: Gardening with Kids and The Joy of Being A
Vegetarian.
